Hospital photos

A mid-day update: Kyle's on oxygen now, as he's been desatting all day without it. He's eating and drinking a little better, which is good because this is the last day they're going to put up with his low inputs before they start an IV. If he keeps eating and drinking better, then we'll stave off the IV for another day. Lauren is the same, maybe a little better. No major news. Ice cream and a visit from Grandpa are the highlights of the day so far.

  1. oh, look how sweet Kyle looks despite all that they are going through. That just breaks my heart. I hope that you guys are out sooner than the predicted two weeks.

  2. Hang in there, Cass. They look so adorable, and truly, they're so resilient.

As my husband always said on occasions such as you're enduring now, "They'll never remember, you'll never forget."

  3. Hi Cassandra,
Oh hospital food, yum yum yum, NOT!! Sorry you can't find anything more decent to eat.
Listen, I want to be honest with you. If Kyle's sats are not staying up, O2 is not going to help. He, like Lauren, needs BiPAP. O2 just masks the problem and doesn't help him get better. I know it's way down on the list of things you want to hear, but it is really important for Kyle to get better. If you have any questions about this, don't hesitate to e-mail me.
I hope they are feeling better very soon! We're thinking of you!

  4. Oh, those tiny, sweet babies in those big hospital beds! Big hugs for brave, sweet Jenna.

Two weeks? Ugh. Made worse by the prospect of two more weeks of hospital food.

What can we do to help, Cassandra?

  5. MJ, I did ask them about Kyle's bipap after I read your comment. Now he'll be on bipap tomorrow. Just while sleeping at first, but then we'll go from there. Today was a better day, and they turned his O2 down to 1.5L, so we're moving in the right direction. For now! Thank you for the advice.
