They look something like this:

Many, many thanks to the local Muscular Dystrophy Association, who is actually paying for these this time. They have a certain amount to spend per patient every few years, and these braces fall within their limit. So we'll have to buy next few sets, but they'll chip in every 3 years or so. Woo hoo for free money!
That is expensive! It kind of reminds me of K&B's helmets, but they only needed 2 each. That's a lot of money and I'm sure insurance probably doesn't help at all. That's awesome about the muscular Dystrophy helping. What a great charity.
ReplyDeleteGeesh, that is kinda expensive. So glad that this lot are being paid for. Will insurance help out at all with future ones?
ReplyDeleteWe have an annual $2,000 deductible for durable medical equipment like this...per person.... so, if it's a year when they need more than one set each, then yeah, they'll cover it. But they may need other braces, wheelchairs, etc that could go towards that $2k deductible each year, so maybe.... yuck, huh?
